Our mission
iKanBan exists because every great team deserves a fast, reliable, and genuinely open project board — without the enterprise price tag or the bloated feature set that slows you down.
We built iKanBan as an API-first, real-time Kanban platform: something you can self-host, extend, and integrate into your existing toolchain on day one. Every feature ships with a documented REST endpoint. No lock-in, no hidden limits on the free tier, no dark patterns.
What we value
Speed first
Sub-100ms API responses, WebSocket updates under 50ms. If it feels slow, it's a bug.
Open by default
MIT licensed, self-hostable, and fully documented. Your data is yours.
Developer ergonomics
Real API keys, webhooks, and a Go + React codebase you can actually read and extend.
Security
bcrypt password hashing, JWT access tokens, refresh rotation, and bcrypt-hashed API keys.
The tech stack
iKanBan is built with tools we trust in production: a Go backend for raw throughput, PostgreSQL for durability, Redis for caching and pub/sub, and a React + TypeScript frontend with real-time WebSocket updates via @dnd-kit drag-and-drop.
- Go + Gin
- PostgreSQL + GORM
- Redis
- WebSockets
- React 18
- TypeScript
- Vite
- Tailwind CSS
- Zustand
- @dnd-kit
- JWT + bcrypt
- Docker
